New 'iStuff' From Apple This Week? |
|
Apple has been going balls-to-the-wall here lately with product intros, but will they do anything this week? If so, the likeliest candidate for an update is the iPod. Many rumor sites have already speculated that updates are on the way for the world's best MP3 player. MacWhispers has reported that Toshiba has new 20, 30 and 40GB drives available for Apple to use. Think Secret even believes that these updates will happen this week (early this week!).
Well, I know that I need my fix - I just hope that Apple doesn't count the 10.2.4 update from late last week as a "product intro".
Now, for more 'proof' that an update will happen this week, take a look at the trend of product intros since the MacWorld Expo at San Fran:
• Updated PowerMacs and Displays - Tuesday, January 28th
• Updated iMacs - Tuesday, February 4th
• Updated Xserves, plus Xserve RAID - Monday, February 10th
<SARCASM>Since we know that Apple NEVER bucks any trends</SARCASM> (ok they do - there's a saying that if you want to see the PC of tomorrow, look at the Macintosh of today...and it's true!), we can safely assume that new iPods will be here TODAY. So keep your browsers pointed at apple.com, or one of the lesser known domains such as mammals.org. Every once in a while you can catch something on mammals.org that's not on the main page yet ;) |
