About Us |
|
2 Guys, A Mac, and a Web Site - We're not a news site, not really an opinion site, and not really a humor site (not because we don't try, just because we're not funny). We don't fit into any of the "categories" that "The Man" tries to lump us into. We're free, man and proud of it. Fight the power! Kill Whitey!
See? That's what we're good at - failed attempts at humor! Corny - yes. Lame - yes. But we do it for YOU, the knowledgeable and well-informed Mac user. Or Linux user. Or even the occasional really really really cool Windows user. (Some might say that "cool Windows user" is an oxymoron, but I would have to blatantly not disagree.)
And about the name. It started out as 2 Guys, but as an avalanche picks up steam as it goes downhill, so did we. Wait, that didn't sound right - focus on the "picking up steam" part, not the "going downhill" part. Man, I suck at this. Anyway, the more correct ... er ... correcter .... er I mean.... correctified name as of right now would be "5 Guys, a Girl, 3 iBooks, 2 iMacs, 2 PowerMacs, a Linux box, and a Web Site".
We had thought about changing our name, but haven't been able to settle on one. Plus we love making people type a whole lot! We may change it at some point down the road, but for now it's 2 Guys!
Now, with that whole spiel out of the way, below are brief descriptions of some of the regular contributors to 2 Guys.
Bios
Jonahan
Jonahan is a real Mac Dude and one of the original '2 Guys'. He claims to have Apple in is blood, he says his Grandmother's last name was Mcintosh. And since he strongly believe this fact, Jonahan actively tries to convert everyone he meets into the way of the Mac. I might add that he has a very high success rate. When he is not trying to be a cult leader he often kicks back and whips out some killer PHP and other scripting code. While Jonahan is not David Koresh don't accept any pudding or jello he may try to give you.
Jedbeck
Another of the original '2 Guys', Jedbeck is a real class act. His articles are well-written, concise, and well-written, with a sprinkle of oregano on top. He tends to hibernate for a month or so after posting an article to re-energize himself because of the amount of time it takes as well as the immense loss of human life.
He prefers Macs and has a 14" iBook, a 266Mhz Lime iMac and a (* BLECHH *) Windows machine for gaming, a leftover from his pre-switch days.
HTML Samurai
This guy is the guy. His origins are unknown, but like his title implies, he abides by the law of the Samurai. Yes, the old Samurai law that says, "If you don't buy me some Chicken McNuggets, I will punch you in the face, put fish sticks up your nose, and then run away with my arms flailing whilst singing Steve Perry ballads."
He's an open-source freak who claims you shouldn't have to pay for your software. He owns many machines running some type of Linux and while he's been familiar with Macs for some time, he has never owned one. He does use one at work though (a 1Ghz PowerMac G4) so there is yet hope for his soul. (* Update - He got a Mac!) (** Update update - He now owns a 12" iBook G4!)
iKen
iKen has been heard to say: "I like cheese". And it's true! Ricotta, Pepper Jack, Limburger - it don't matter to him, it's all good. You see, by day he's just Ken. But with the Power of Cheese, he becomes iKen- The Savior of the Mac Way. With this incredible power he has converted many a disbeliever from the Windows and Linux worlds, so that they too may go to heaven.
iKen owns a PowerMac G4 and many Apple Posters which he also draws strength from.
Slackin
Slackin is the calming, ethereal, feminine force that binds this site together. You don't see her presence in text very much, but she's always working hard behind the scenes. She also picks us up when we're down, raises our spirits when they're flagging, and slaps us in the face when we're daydreaming and yells, "HEY, YOU LAZY PUNK-ASS BITCH! GET BACK TO WORK OR I'LL CUT OFF YOUR STUGOTS!", in that lovely way that she does.
She owns a 12" iBook and a venerable Perfoma that's still chugging away. Sort of.
Jonathan Monahan
Jonathan is the O.G. Mac Gangsta. Raised on the Classic Mac OS, but the Master of all things OS X he is one with the Force. With his incredible knowledge of arcane terminal commands and server management, it won't be long before our plan for world domination comes to fruition! MUAAHAHAHAHAHAAHAAAAA!
Er, sorry, but he is really good with any type of hardware or software you can throw at him. Plus the guy makes a mean meatloaf.
He owns a PowerMac G3 (one'a dem Blue and White ones).
rlhamon
rlhamon, whose name is a mystery wrapped in a riddle wrapped in an enigma wrapped in a fortune cookie, is a recent convert to the Mac Way. In his former life he used many PC's, and still deals with them day in and day out, which gives him a great perspective the world on computers.
Now a proud owner of a 17" iMac, rlhamon very frequently sheds his unique insight in the 2GAMMAW Forums and article comments. Every once in a while he deigns to favor us all with an article and, spelling and grammar aside, they are things of wonder!
SweetJimmyHugs
A mystic wanderer from parts unknown (ok, maybe Virginia Beach isn't so unknown), SweetJimmyHugs is one of the newest 2 Guys'. SJH and the rest of the gang quickly formed a bond due to their mutual love of fishsticks, cheese, pants, Macs, and porn.
SJH is quite the ladies man, although not many women readily admit that fact. He is as suave as Steve Jobs, as debonaire as Phil Schiller, and as snappy a dresser as Avie Tevanian. His geekiness is only equaled by his ability to come up with the most idiotic ideas for stories (those are the best, really). Oh, and one other reason for his charm over women: for some reason he always smells like Brand New Macintosh®.
nhmacusr
A mysterious man with a mysterious handle. What is the riddle of his nickname? While no one knows who he is or where he's from, it's clear that his love of Macs, UNIX, fishsticks, and pants (and various combinations of those like fishpants and Macsticks) is unbridled. His writing style is filled with technical information, but we let that slide. Clearly an asset to both the Macintosh and open-source communities, nhmacusr is proud to call 2GAMAAW his home away from the vacation rental shack that he sometimes hangs out at... on the Web.
jstoup
Hailing from Hampton Roads Virginia, I am a computer engineer who has been using Macs for at least a decade. I remember OS 7.5 and used it fondly on my Performa 630 CD (which I still have). I am a fervent Mac addict who wears pants, for the most part, enjoys the occasional fish stick and who is also a little on the strange side. I also have no tolerance for morons, bad drivers, those who work in America but don't speak English and people who use Windows and then complain about it. Just shut up because you knew what you were getting into when you bought it.
I regularly use my most awesome G3 snow iBook and my G4 Sawtooth PowerMac. Please don't expect much from me in the way of news as I tend to steer more towards scarcastic opinions, scathing comentary and the in general spouting of giberish.
Yeah we switched tenses at different points in this page, but you can just deal with it, buddy-man! (or .. uh... buddy-girl? Buddy-person??)
P.S. - Jonahan is actually the infamous John Monahan. John and Jonathan are related, but only by blood (and the love of All Things Macintosh!). Does that clear things up a little?

Keynote Theme Park |

Keynote is pretty cool. But Apple had to make those Themes likable by 90% of the masses so they are a bit bland. So I created Keynote Theme Park, home to some very nifty Themes. I'm not talkin' about the usual, blur-a-background, cheezy stuff. These are... as one recent customer put it, "Sensational"! John Driedger

Do any of you know where I can get a Greatest American Hero outfit for a mego figure that I'm customizing? I'd like one like the one you have in your musical GAH site. Thank you
