 New stuff for .Mac members
I just surfed over from .Mac webmail, and boy is my clicking finger tired!

I would like to apologize for that horrible joke that was in no way humorous.

Anyway, while going to said webmail, I found that there is more free stuff for .Mac members. Now you can download absolutely free* Deluxe Board Games from Freeverse! According to the page it includes "eight classic board games - Chess, Checkers, 7th Fleet, 4 In A Row, Go, Mancala, Tic Tac Toe, and Reversi" providing us (the .Mac subscriber) "hours of entertainment for everyone." A US$20 value completely free**

Wow, with all this free*** stuff from .Mac, it makes me wonder why I ever had a problem with subscribing.****

* Price of download is free + $99 yearly subscription to .mac.
** Free is not completely free, there is a $99 yearly subscription
*** Stuff is not really free. see * & **
**** I still have a problem with shelling out $99 a year for this service.

Did I detect some sarcasm there? ;)

I agree, I don't think $100 a year for .Mac is worth it. It has some cool features and POTENTIAL, like iSync, iCal publishing (although you can do that on your own) and the homepage publishing thing, and it'll get better with time, but right now, I don't see a lot of people signing up for it.

I did, because I got in for half price - but I may not renew, depending on how .Mac progresses. I remember there being some rumors about Apple creating a homepage building program that would tie into .Mac, and THAT would be cool.

You signed up because you got it for half price?

So are you saying dotMac is worth $50?

Jonahan 4/17/03, 12:50 PM EDT
Yeah I think fiddy bucks might be about right. I got in because I knew Apple would add features, and .Mac may be worth the $100 when it's time to renew
