If you're as big a fan of Minimize in Place (MIP) as I am, you might get a kick out of this.
Bascially, you can drag minimized windows and files to the dock or from the dock to the Desktop. Here's a Quicktime movie of it: (It's 1.5MB and may take a little while to load depending on your connection)

It does not work for me. the dock does not appear to place it in while i am dragging the item. How sad!!!

I have dock hiding turned off - maybe that's why? Give it a try! Then eat a pie. That ain't no lie! Ok, that's it, I gotta fly...

I turned off dock hiding and it still didnt work for me either.
My dads an asshole.
