 Starting today 2GAMAAW is going to start a new daily feature called "Today in Mac News", a look at the days top headlines as we see it. And what a day to start, a whole lot of not-a-lot-going-on-today!
-The iPod (with video) is making quite a stir, and Digigami released "MovieToGo" converter for the iPod video and application that automatically converts quicktime files (porn) in to iPod ready files. Finally a use for your off-hand while firing the flesh musket!
-Speaking of the iPorn, err iPod (with video) and porn, Macworld UK has a great article on how the porn industry is trying to use the new iPod to distribute their smut. Does anyone else get the feeling that Macworld wrote this article a couple years ago, and have had it sitting in their "post when Apple released the iPod video" pile all this time. I mean, who wasn't dreaming of the day they could put play porno movies on their iPod long before Apple released the iPod (with video)?
-Not all content being released for the new iPod is porn, Central Park media announced today that it will begin offering anime for the iPod. There are two trailers available today, and the promise of "full episodes" in the near future. Now we just need anime porn
-In non-porn related news, Apple has finally launched the music store in Australia, but without Sony BMG artists or T.V. shows. I would just like to say to all our Aussie friends "Good day mate, throw another shrimp on the barbee and download music, but watch out for the dingo's!". (I also considered a fosters parody: "iTunes, Australian for "legal music downloads".") Songs are selling for AUD $1.69 and videos for AUD $3.39 which in real money equals $1.27 & $2.55 respectively. Sorry Australia, looks like you'll be paying more for your legally downloaded music. But it is the only way to legally own an iPod with music on it in Australia.
-AppleInsider is claiming that Apple is almost ready to release Mac OS X 10.4.3 soon, with a mere 500 bug fixes and feature enhancements, weighing in at around 100 MB in combo form, and not a single byte will be porn, they promise.
-Kulturtechnik has made a robot that is sure to take over the world matrix style, the Mac Mini Robot, a robot made of a Mac Mini, and iSight and motorized wheels. It's hard to make out what they are saying on that site, since it is a babel fish translation, but it sounds like the Mac Mini thinks and moves by itself using the iSight to see where it is going. Now if only it had a beer retrieval/porn viewing system...
