Paul Van Dyk is a Mac User
Why is this so important to me ? Well, I've always been a fan of Paul Van Dyk myself. He is one of Germany's biggest DJ's and producers. He defined a whole era of electronic music and today he's a local hero in Berlin.

Why bring it up here? Well, he's a Mac user. And what better proof of the stability of Mac OS X can we possibly have than a DJ using it for live performances? Of course not just some DJ: Paul Van Dyk has been nominated for the Grammy 2005 in the new category Best Electronic/Dance Album. Van Dyk had become more and more aware of the modern technology over the past years.

In 'DJ-Magazine' he stated that "99% of the songs that I spin aren't available on the market. And if I spin them, I've most likely reworked them directly on my plane." DJ Magazine was curious if Paul wasn't nervous that his computer could crash on the gig. "The chances of my system crashing are more unlikely then me forgetting my LPs on a gig.", he answered, "I use a custom-made G4 Macintosh. That is, I believe, the minimum of what you should have as a professional. With that you have a very reliable system."

Paul Van Dyk uses Final Scratch on a Mac for all his live performances nowadays. I believe that this is perhaps the best proof (other than my own experience of course) I can have that the system I use and work on does not only work great for me, but also most likely for everyone else.

Isn't it funny how whenever we go to a county fair or a state fair, the first thing we do is see if they have some kind of pornography booth.
