 Made in the USA
I won’t take too much of your time but I noticed something on my Mac that I’ve never noticed before. I was adding more memory to my flat-screen iMac, so I flipped the computer over and loosened the screws when I noticed the text, "Assembled in the USA".

I was taken back by this, because other computer manufacturers, including Dell, HP, and IBM assemble their computers outside the USA. I always took pride in my Mac but now to know that it was assembled in the USA I feel even more proud of it!

whoa whoa wait! all of apple's computer that I have ever had including a 17" iMac I just got was assembled in Taiwan. It was "designed" by Apple in California. You got a picture of it?

The new PowerMacs are coming from China. I believe they just closed all of the manufacturing in the US recently. Doesn't mean yours wasn't manufactured in the good US of A.

I've taken every single Mac/iMac/Powerbook I've ever owned appart a some point and each one of them I then re-assembled them in the USA. Does that count?

You ask and you shall receive.

I was never too picky about where my stuff came from. As long as it works…But I do prefer my cars German.
In fact though, if a company makes a big point about US manufacturing, I tend to shy from them. Ford and the UAW and such.
(A small engraving on the bottom is not a big point)

My PowerMac was assembled in Ireland. Good quality.

ThatGuy 8/6/04, 1:21 PM EDT
But the label...the label on which we read "Assembled in the USA"; where was that label made ?!?!?!

rlhamon 8/6/04, 1:36 PM EDT
Oh the Made in the USA label I think that was made in China. LOL

Me made sticker in fada's faktory.

I've heard that the USA have some of the highest defects when it comes to manufacturing cars. Go Japanese... those blokes are loyal and take pride in their factory jobs.

 Deep Thoughts
If you go to a costume party at your boss's house, wouldn't you think a good costume would be to dress up like the boss's wife? Trust me, it's not.
