55 Different Operating Systems, 1 PowerBook |
|
One myth you always hear from people about the Macintosh, is that the Mac is not compatible with the rest of the world. Any informed individual will know that myth is false, but a lot of people think this way. Hopefully MythBusters will do a show about it someday. Of course, until then there are several ways to prove this, but I have found some proof that is among of the best I have seen to disprove this myth.
Seems this guy (or girl, doesn't really say) at kernelthread.com has a list with screenshots of 55 different operating systems running on his or her powerbook. Almost every version of Windows is in the list, along with versions of DOS, BSD, Linux, and even OS/2, among others. It's worth a look, if nothing else, at least to see screenshots of some of the old-as-dirt operating systems (like Windows 1.01 for example)
