This Week on iTMS - 02/22/05 |
|
There are about a million things that I could write about this week. I could write about the free download of the week (it's called "Smile" by the way) and how I think it's an OK song that's worth a download. I could also write about how I think Maroon 5's playlist is way too long and that they are way too overrated. Or I could write about how 50 Cent is still number one this week, but I won't. No, instead I'm going to write about a band who should be all over the radio and television but isn't. I'm going to write about The Mars Volta.
The Mars Volta is, in my "expert" opinion, a very cutting edge band. Successfully combining elements of Metal, Electronic, Punk, and even Spanish mariachi to forge a sound so unique that commercial radio has no choice but to shut it out. Don't believe me? Check out the video to their latest single The Widow. Granted, the video is pretty disturbing, but the song is the most moving thing I've heard in a long time. I could talk this song up all day, I think it's that good, but you have better things to do than listen to my incoherent and pretentious ramblings about The Mars Volta. Instead, download it and form your own opinion.
After you're done with that, check out this week's iMix. This weeks songs were picked out by Jonahan and his cat, Princess Puss-Puss build 7U16. Buy them and make sure Jonahan and his cat don't develop an inferiority complex. |

Hey, leave my pussy alone! Or on second thought, play with it, whichever you prefer.
My robotic cat is the only one my fiancee would let me have since she's allergic to most other cats.
