Ideas For The New iBooks |
|
Somewhere (but I forgot where) I read something about Apple is about to fix up their ol' G3 iBooks. I have one of these little beauties and I love it (except that it scratches like a film of gelatin). So anyway. Wherever I did read that article about the possibility of new iBooks, I got some good idea's from it on what should or what may come.
The article quickly said that there will only be minor upgrades, like 100 Mhz up, a bit more RAM, things like that.
But I don't really expect that from Apple, who never does things small.
First off, I think Apple is going to at least stick in a G4 processor. If they are going to ever put the G5 in, they would do it to the Powerbook first.
The iBook definitely could use better materials for the top, so it won't scratch every time you touch it. But the color, shape, and size is perfect.
We definitely need a way to stuff them with lots o' memory. Also, faster and larger hard drives would be nice.
One other thing that Apple should do is just throw out the trackpad, or put in something better, like a stick type thing that IBM's have. I HATE the trackpad.
And of course, 17 inch screens would rock.
But thats just me.
Any other ideas? |

or they could just put the sticky thing where you wont hit it.

I can't stand the button/sticky thing either (is there a technical term for that?) and I think the trackpad is just fine.
At least, it'll work for me until Apple develops a brain wave reader and you can control the mouse pointer with your mind ;)

i think a low end g4 processor would be ideal for the ibook. I would like to be the eMac of the portables.

If I had a mine shaft, I don't think I would just abandon it. There's got to be a better way.
