Did You Lock Your Windows Last Night?
Just a quick note to give you all another reason to be thankful that you don't run Windows. According to BBC News, the latest security hole that was found in DirectX effects every version of Windows made since 1998 - including the OS to end all security issues, Windows Server 2003. Again, we admit that every OS has security issues every once in a while, but you have to see the irony in this one!

Every day I visit www.news.com and every day there is a security article on Microsoft. Hmm, do you think they would get the point by now?

The sad truth is that at work, no one tracks these issues for the windows network. And the scary thing is, that I believe we're not the only ones. Windows 2003 had a security patch the following week, so we know that Microsoft rushed it, once again. Maybe this is the reason Longhorn won't be out sooner.

Yeah, no doubt!

And now they're reporting that X Focus security group has forwarded the source code for the latest vulnerability has been made public, so it's expected that hackers could easily make the code into a worm. This is apparently exactly what happened with the Slammer worm.

Fun stuff!
