More Stuff From a Newbie |

Okay, I have been using this Mac for a while now, and I have to say that my favorite thing about it is still the interface! As a long time PC user, I am learning how to deal with the Command (Apple) and Option keys. (I guess the Mac is the Alt...?) I have picked up on a few shortcut keys, many are A LOT like they are in Windows and Linux (GUI). It is really not hard to use at all, but I doubt I will ever "Switch" completely, unless someone buys me a 17" Power Book (PLEASE!!!). Currently, I have an older laptop running Win 98, a server and a firewall running Red Hat, and my PC is dual boot between the two (usually booted into Red Hat!) and my wife's laptop is running Win XP (both laptops are on a wireless network). A "Switch" would be very expensive right now...
A few other things:
iChat, AIM based messenger that is the best IM I have ever used. iTunes, another awesome app, just puts Windows Media Player to shame! Currently, my prefered browser is Netscape 7 (Although, it works better in Linux), until Safari has all of its bugs worked out (I hear tabbed browsing is just around the corner).
And I'll say it again, if Apple would either switch to "PC" based hardware or port OS X to be able to run on a Pentium or Athlon, they would rule!
I have found that I can do almost everything on a Mac that I can in Windows. Same with Linux. It all comes down to the one simple fact, get what you like and learn to use it the way that you want to. |

I guess we were all guilty, in a way. We all shot him, we all skinned him, and we all got a complimentary bumper sticker that said, "I helped skin Bob."
