Music to Your Ears? No - Music to OUR ears!
According to recent news from MacCentral, Apple will be holding a special event on Monday, April 28th! Apple is being pretty tight-lipped about the event, as is usual, but Apple did mention that the event will have "announcements that will be music to your ears".

So what'll be announced? Why, Apple's new Music Service, of course! Ok, maybe it's not a sure thing, but earlier this month, both AppleInsider and Mac Rumors stated that Apple would debut the new Music Service on April 28th.

A minor update to iTunes may also be in the works, allowing iTunes to hook into the Music Service. However, it's been a while since iTunes 3 came out (last July) so we can't rule out a major upgrade to version 4. Perhaps Apple will throw us a bone and add some other features to the already great music player.

Also, we've been waiting for updated iPod's for some time now. Heck we even cried wolf about Apple updating the iPod lineup - not once, but twice! We did apologize at the time, but there was reason for us to think that new iPods would come out. The main reasons being reports by MacWhispers and ThinkSecret, but another reason was the psychic mind-link we have with Steve Jobs. Psychic mind-links only give you so much information though, so as we knew without a shadow of a doubt that new iPod's were in production, we didn't know that they would be held back until April 28th for announcement. At least we HOPE they will be announced then! If so, they most likely will have 10, 20 and 40 GB hard drives and, as MacWhispers speculates, they may have a dock.

Oh yeah, and all those rumors about Apple purchasing Universal Music Group... well, Apple has denied it, so don't look for any news about this on the 28th. It could happen, but I'll be prepared to eat crow if it does. Mmmmm.....crow...

Anyway, mark your calendars and be prepared to shirk your work or school duties (or maybe your hobo duties - as I know we have a huge following among the hobo population) next Monday!

Update - 10:11 AM: ThinkSecret also reports that Apple will hold an in-store event on May 2nd, and speculates that it may be about new iPods and the Music Service. If so, perhaps we'll see Apple offer a package of free iMusic downloads along with the purchase of a new iPod? And you can always expect freebies of some sort from Apple, even in this downturned economy!

 Deep Thoughts
If you ever teach a yodeling class, probably the hardest thing is to keep the students from just trying to yodel right off. You see, we build to that.
