Password Errors When Trying to Connect To Server
This is one to watch out for. Say you're trying to connect to a server via Apple's appropriately named "Connect to Server..." or Apple-K (isn't that a type of cereal?) but you keep getting an error message telling you the password is incorrect. You've tried and tried, you've double-checked that password and know you're typing it right, and all the network settings are correct. Well, you may not be going crazy, you may just have discovered a bug in Jaguar.

Well, not really in Jaguar per se, because that would imply system files are at fault when really it's Keychain Access. You know what Keychain Access is, right? It saves usernames and password for commonly used locations: Web sites, FTP sites, Music Store, iChat, and Servers. The problem with Servers is if you switch IP's around you may get more than one listing for a computer. Likewise, if you change the "name" of a computer, you may have more than one listing for an IP address. With either of these cases, if you try to connect to that server, Keychain Access could read the wrong listing and that's why you keep getting a password error.

To fix it, launch Keychain Access (it's found in your Applications folder -> Utilities) and delete the entry for the offending server. It's usually listed as "Appleshare password". Then you should be able to connect to that server and share files like a mofo!

If you're in a boxing match, try not to let the other guy's glove touch your lips, because you don't know where that glove has been.
