Slow News Weeks Suck like Paris Hilton |
|
 whew, it sure was a slow news week in Apple land last week. So slow, in fact, that it's been 6 days since anythings been posted on 2 guys. Oh sure, stuff has happened, just nothing really worth writing a whole article about. So I am going to recap a little on what happened last week.
Big Mac was officially ranked at Number 3 with an impressive 10.28 TFlops, just nudging out Tungsten at 9.819 TFlops. Great news for all you Hokies out there still writhing in pain from the Loss to West Virginia 3 weeks ago, because at least something from your college is still ranked Number 3. (Zinger!)
Some idiot named Paul Thurrott is spreading FUD that longhorn, an operating system still not slated for release for 3 years, is far superior to Mac OS X, because as he says "[Mac OS X is] a classic desktop operating system that doesn't offer anything in the way of usability advancements over previous desktop operating systems." Huh? This OS was written from the ground up just a few years ago based on the most stable and secure operating system on the planet. And I'm not even going to dignify the "usability advancements" remark. That's just stupid. Exposé, Panther's new Finder, rendezvous, etc.. What are those, chopped liver? I guess having an operating system that has so many security holes that let viruses in, that said company has to start releasing updates once a month because the 3 to 4 a week stuff was getting old, has more in the way of "usability advancements" than an os with no viruses. Wait a second, since when is there a windows fan boy site? Smells like Microsoft, I officially call shenanigans.
Apple has release a new website, ipodrocks.com shamelessly promoting the iPod to teenagers. Well, not shameless, the website is pretty cool. But it does offer several ways to get your parents to lay down $300-$500 so that you can be cool like Johnny Starting-Quarterback from school, including ways as subliminal as an ipod screen saver to methods as direct as an iCard that says "Have I told you how attractive you are? Almost as good-looking as the new iPod". And who could forget the "Buy me a iPod or I will kill you while you sleep" iCard. OK, I made that one up. Great looking website however.
Lets see, what else... Oh! MacGIMP is finally available for free download. That's nice, since you could download it before using fink and X11, but Having a nice installer is great. I Still prefer Photoshop myself, but if you can't afford Photoshop, give MacGIMP a try, the price is right.
And finally a side note, that I personally find funny as hell. According to Apple Knowledge base article number 93402, iTunes for windows plays songs faster than normal on some dell models. There are so many ways to go with that joke, I am leaving it to you in the comment section, lets hear your best!
And we promise to get back to our own shenanigans in a some what more appropriate interval. Scouts-honor. |

You were right, Paris Hilton does suck. If you're going to make a sex tape, at least spend some money on good lighting. Night vision maybe cool on Rainbow Six, but it doesn't belong on my porno!
Oh yeah, nice recap of the week's (slow) news!

I think a cute movie idea would be about a parrot who is raised by eagles. It would be cute because the parrot can't seem to act like an eagle. After a while, though, to keep the movie from getting boring, maybe put in some pornography. Later, we see the happy parrot flying along, acting like an eagle. He see two parrots below and starts to attack, but it's his parents. Then, some more pornography.
