Another Guaranteed Way to Win Music! (Er, Sort Of) |
|
Well it seems that some people are still left out of the fun. By "the fun" we mean ... (deep breath) Apple and Pepsi's cross-promotion where they're giving away 100 million songs with specially marked bottles of Pepsi, Diet Pepsi and Sierra Mist where each bottle has a 1 in 3 chance of winning and the songs can be redeemed in the iTunes Music Store.
(Whew ... that's a gasser. Do we really need to do that lead-in every time we run an iTunes/Pepsi story? Has anyone on the planet NOT heard of it?)
Anyhoo, lots of people have been complaining that the new bottles with the "iCaps" (thanks to iPod Garage for that term) aren't available in their area. Other people have been griping that they buy their Pepsi from pop machines that render the tilt-method utterly ineffective, thereby having to suffer the "1-in-3" odds of winning a song. Yet other people don't want to endure the stares of store clerks while executing the tilt method and also are left with the 1-in-3 prospect of a winning iTunes song.
Well worry no more, friends! Here's a fool-proof way to get as many winning songs as you like: buy them on eBay.
That's right, eBay, the place that's sold such things as organs, souls, and even imaginary online girlfriends, now has auctions for winning iTunes bottlecaps.
So quit playing the game that "The Man" makes us play. Don't go in for that 33% chance of winning. You can guarantee a 100% chance of winning bunches of songs, and you don't even have to deal with the messy and calorie-filled liquid-type stuff that comes in those bottles. Just start bidding!
Sure, you could buy 99¢ songs on the iTunes Music Store and bypass the whole iTunes/Pepsi deal, but man that's just plain un-American. Pff. Plus you don't get to enter those fun 10-character codes into the iTunes Music Store and see that comforting number of "free" songs in the upper right-hand corner!
There's no word on if losing iCaps are being sold on eBay, but if you act now you can buy them in lots of 10 from the 2 Guys staff! These things will only increase in value as an Apple collector's item so assure yours TODAY!

If that's not beautiful. If only this would have happened a few months ago, we could have avoided the issue of selling the actual song on eBay, just the number to get the credit to get the song.
Did that make sense? I didn't think so either.
