Today in Mac News 10/26 |

 Today was a fairly slow news day, but don't let that fool ya, there is still some juicy news for today!
-The Motorola ROKR phone was a disappointment from the start. From the 100 song cap, to the complicated UI, to the fact that it looks like a retarded monkey smoking PCP designed it. It is one big ball of disappointment, and Wired has a great article describing it all. Noting that an omen of the "suck" to come, came when Steve Jobs had problems with the phone picking up the track where it left off after a phone call during the announcement. A long, but good read.
-Contradicting news stories; The porn industry as reported in "Today in Mac News 10/24" is eagerly jumping on the iPod (with video) bandwagon, at least that is what Mac world UK is saying. But Wired now claims that the Porn industry is largely staying away from the iPod fearing a public outcry. So which is it? I say we let the conflicting stories fight it out cock-fighting style with razor blades attached to their feet, in a dirt ring somewhere in Mexico!
-Yesterday's hacked release has proven that Front Row can run on Macs with a G4, and now The MacWest Computer Society has started a petition asking Apple to bring Front Row to all Macs. I personally think it is just a matter of time, but it wouldn't hurt to sign the petition. I'm signature #5695.
-Apache web servers are now running on over 50 million web servers according to Netcraft. Since Mac OS X has had a copy of Apache on every installation since the beginning, I would like to think that Apple has a small part in this milestone. Of course I would also like to think that I'm going to win the lottery and marry a super model, but that has nothing to do with anything.
-MacDesktops.com is back, after a fracas with a $900 charge from GoDaddy.com, which is good, because when I don't get my daily desktop picture fix, I curl up in the fetal position and cry while sucking my thumb. I also do that when I am hungry, scared, and after having sex.
-As a perfect compliment to the iBelieve reported on yesterday, Zondervan, a Bible publisher, announced that they would be distributing a version of the bible in text and audio specifically designed for the iPod. What will the Christians think of next?
-One quick last note; Apple released Backup 3.0.1 today. Pick it up if ye dare!
