Microsoft is Good, Right? |
|
Here is just another reason to use Microsoft IIS for your web server. As this article from e-week describes, every time a high level security government web server is compromised, they work hard to release a patch to fix it. This is just another reason why open source software is bad -- do you really want the world researching a problem that doesn't exist yet? I mean really, think about it, why patch a server before it is necessary? That's ridiculous! I don't think anyone should patch their server until they have been hacked at least once.
And look at all of the benefits you get from using a Microsoft product: reliability, millions of faithful users, none of those pesky fees or licenses to purchase, and last but not least - none of that open source crap. However, there is a down side to using their products, uptime - who wants a server that never needs to be rebooted - Windows is so solid that it will run forever! (if the power stays on, I don't want to get your hopes up!) Another bad thing about using a Microsoft OS for your server is that it actually eliminates jobs! Think about it - These servers are so reliable that you don't need an IS dept. And why should you?
