Friday Rumor Roundup |
|
Here's a list of biggest rumors circulating the Mac 'Net, so we can maybe have a little better idea of what to expect next week from Apple. I hope to make this an every Friday thing, but we'll see how it goes!
PowerMac G5's - MacWhispers claims that new motherboards using the PPC 970 (G5) chip are in the works. These probably won't be debuted until Apple's CREATE Conference
Updated 15" PowerBook - Will it just be Aluminum and very similar to it's 12" and 17" brothers, or will it have a PPC 970 chip in it? In any case, MacWhispers talks about it here. Word on this is that it will happen SOON.
Apple Music Service - AppleInsider claims it will be launched this month.
iTunes Update - This rumor comes from RAILHead Design. It gives more credence to the Apple Music Service possibility, as that's most likely what the updates are for.
Document - Apple's answer to Word, it probably won't launch until the CREATE Conference.
Panther - This is an easy one. We all know it will be debuted at WWDC, and then most likely intro'd at CREATE.
Safari - Judging by updates that are floating around the Web, much progress has been made in Safari. Apple may not wait until the next big shindig to debut the 1.0 version, but my guess would be to look for Safari 1.0 at WWDC.
Apple Tablet - The iSurf, or whatever it'll be called, has been reported by SpyMac and MacWhispers. MacWhispers claims it has JUST gone into production, so most likely won't be debuted anytime soon. Introduction at the CREATE Conference would be the safe bet.
Minor iMovie Update - As reported by SpyMac
Lastly, MacRumors reports that Final Cut Pro 4, DVD Studio Pro 2, and Shake 3 may be introduced at the National Association of Broadcasters conference (April 7-10).
Did I miss anything?

Deep Thoughts |

"I'll take that little one, way in the back," I said. "That little collie mix?" said the animal shelter guy. "No," I said, "the one behind him." "The gray terrier?" he said. "He's gray," I said, "but way in the back, in the corner." "You mean the water faucet?" he said. I realized then it was a water faucet, but I didn't want to look like a jerk, so I said, "Yeah, that's the one I want." It ended up costing me almost five hundred dollars to get that faucet removed. But you know, I've still got that faucet, and I wouldn't trade it for any dog in the world.
