Quick Tip - Copying Your Address Book To Multiple Macs |
|
If you're like me (5'9", 170 lbs and incredibly good looking) then you like things a certain way and you don't like not having an email address when you need it. Here is a quick and easy way to copy your address book info to multiple Macs designed to save you time and energy.
The first thing to do is update the address book that you want to copy from with any addresses that may be residing on your multiple Macs. Doing this will prevent losing the phone number for that always important 24 hour taco and sushi restaurant.
Next, in Address Book, go to File > Back Up Database. Give it a name and pick a place to save the file (a network drive is a good place if you have a network). After that is done you need to get that file (foo.abbu) onto your other Macs, unless you saved to a network drive of course. Emailing it to yourself is an idea.
Once the backup is on your target Mac, go to File > Revert To Database Backup, and open the backed up database. Click OK to overwrite your old Address Book information (this can't be undone) and you're finished.
See? Quick and easy, just like Jonahan. |
