Safari Public Beta 2 Soon |
|
Just some quick news, but I think it's important enough to post. (Besides, not having any new stories yesterday, I wanted to put SOMETHING fresh on the site!)
Anyway, an AppleInsider article gives us our first real meaty news about Safari since Apple killed the developer seeding program for the fledgeling browser.
The skinny is that beta 72 is supposedly being seeded to Apple staff and testers today. Since beta 71, Apple has been calling the browser "Safari 1.0 Beta 2" - which means we're getting close to having a second public release of the beta software. Joy!
Included in recent builds is a "Reset Safari" option, which clears EVERYTHING: cookies, disk cache, history, names & passwords, even AutoFill text and Google search entries. (A VERY nice feature for people in Tech Support, btw!)
Soon, we will all be able to surf the Web in glorious brushed metal luxury, replete with tabs and many other goodies. The only question that remains is...will Safari implement Microsoft's Smart Tags? We can only hope. |
