iTunes Music Store is the Coolest Invention in 2003
Time Magazine's end-of-the-year edition has been released, and it shows what has happened in this past year. This is a big deal in American culture. And Time's "Coolest Invention of 2003" winner is iTunes Music Store.
What does that mean? Well, we won't all get free music today and there won't be a quicktime stream with Steve calling Gates saying "HA HA! I told you so Bill, I told you so" then Gates slamming the phone down as he hangs up. But it does say that Apple has this idea of legal online music right (if indications of everyone trying to copy it wasn't good enough for you). For Time Magazine to take notice and say that the iTunes Music Store is the coolest thing to came out in 2003, you know you did a tremendous job.
Congrats Apple!
Time Story link Note: Apple G5 and iTunes Music Store has also won Popular Science’s 2003 Best of What’s New Award.

I'm just flabbergasted that the depleted-uranium ashtray didn't catch on. Mine glows in the dark, and that third eye in the middle of my forehead is a godsend ...

Don't forget that Time Magazine is a wholly owned subsidiary of AOL Time Warner, and therefore by design will rate anything about iTMS positive. Why? Because iTMS will be/is integrated in the new AOL software.

Don't look at the negative ZackMac look at it like this millions and million of people read Time Magazine and talk show's discuss this issue because it is what Time feels as the best of 2003. After CNet bashing Apple took and other Microsoft driven media bash Apple and there Music store it finally good to see something positive published. Also it helps that Popular Science said that Apple has brought out two great products helps with the great year Apple had. We should call this swing of users and media towards Apple as "2003 the year of the Mac" it's been a great one.

It's true that every time you hear a bell, an angel gets its wings. But what they don't tell you is that every time you hear a mouse trap snap, and Angel gets set on fire.
