Guy Sues Apple/Pepsi For False Advertising |
|
Brent Stoopnagle of Fairfax, WI is suing Apple and Pepsi because of false advertising. Taking the companies to task for their recent campaign wherein one in three bottlecaps wins a song on the iTunes Music Store, Mr. Stoopnagle had the following to say: "I've bought way over three Pepsi's - seven to be exact. And I even bought a Sierra Mist to to see if there was some type of manufacturing problem at the plant, but nope - eight bottles and no winners."
When informed that mathematicaly it would be possible to get dozens of non-winning bottles in a row, and that legally he had no leg to stand on, Brent replied, "Don't give me none of that jibba-jabba math stuff. I know my rights as an American citizen and this is false advertising! FALSE AD-VER-TIS-ING! I can't believe that in the land of the brave and home of the free that people would let this happen! It's an outrage, an outrage I tell you!! No taxation without representation!"
The 2GAMAAW staff then handed Mr. Stoopnagle a tall, cool, unopened Pepsi that he looked at quizzically. He then said, "Heh...righhhht. Like this is going to be a winner. I'm going to take my case to the highest of courts! There'll be a constitutional amendement!". (He twists off the cap) "There .... oh hey ... it's a winner .... heh ..... um ..... alright. Great, so .. um. I guess, nevermind then! All's fair in love and war, right? Am I right people? Er... ok I'll just leave now."
In related news, Apple is being sued by Jared Fogle (of Subway fame) because of his addiction to winning iTunes songs by drinking tons of Pepsi and his subsequent balooning back up to over 300 pounds.
No word from either Apple or Pepsi on the matter, but a random homeless guy on the street tells us that Apple will be giving away free iPods to anyone who tosses more than $1.00 in change in his cup. |

Sorry Jack, he's roaming about in downtown Columbus, OH - but I think he's a bit delusional. He kept going on about "I invented the iMac, Steve's just following my plan", etc. etc. Said his name was Gil.

The odds for 7 non-winners in a row are about 1 in 1000. This guy better play the lottery than try to pry money from Pepsi/Apple in the court room.
