1 Girl, a PC, and then a Mac. |
|
A friend of mine the other day IM'ed me and said she was going to run a system restore on her PC. I said "Have fun with that." She logged off and so it began. I went over to my friend Johnny's house (it's his girlfriend that has the PC.) I asked him how the restore went (oh, by the way he has a Dual 500 G4 downstairs), and he said "Well it was updating for 2 days after she restored it, then it wouldn't boot."
I chuckled, then he said "I told her to go to the Apple Store and get a real computer." So we were doing stuff around the house and she came home. I was wondering what she would have bought: maybe an iBook or a G5. I had no idea what, so of course I had to see. She opened her door and there was a 17" iMac sitting on her back seat. Very nice. So we brought it upstairs opened it up, took it out, set it up. And she was jammin' with a new iMac.
So then she says to me "Ok, lets load my programs". I'm like umm... those won't work unless you bought Virtual PC. That's not what the Apple guy told me. I thought 'Oh, boy here it comes' but nope she just frowned for a second then her eyes lit back up and was staring at the beautiful iMac screen again. They also talked her into getting .Mac, which is good and all, but I think having been a PC owner, the Anti-Virus software was a big reason for getting it, to which I replied "well you really don't need that with a Mac but hey, whatever floats your boat".
She's very happy about her new iMac. I believe her words to me the other day were "I love it!" and I just nod and say "I know.". But that poor iMac box now houses a PC. I told her there were better uses for that iMac box then to put a dirty PC in it and she gave me the evil eye. Yes guys, you know the evil eye... scary stuff! |

iMacs are like the Jedi Knights of the computer universe.
Except they don't use light sabers.
Or levitate things.
Or fight Imperial Storm Troopers.
But otherwise, they're just like Jedi Knights.
Well, they are garbed in white, after all!
May the Force be with you!

Actually they look more like the clones than the knights but that's OK, the (OS X) force is with them.

Steve Jobswalker: Ha! I have you now, Darth Ballmer! I'm going to shove this lightsabre where the sun don't shine!
Darth Ballmer: *Wheeze!* No, Steve. I don't think you really want to do that. *Wheeze! Wheeze!*
Steve Jobswalker: And why not, you asthmatic, black-garbed monkey boy?
Darth Ballmer: *Wheeze! Wheeze!* Steve, I am your father!
Steve Jobswalker: Noooooooooooo!
Emperor Gates [materialising suddenly]: Fwahahahahahahahaha! Fwahahahahahahahaha! Fwahahahaha ... aaaaarghle! Darn it! Choked ... on a Belgian cream ... pie ... *Hack! Hack! Hack!*

ooo ooo ooo! And Dell-looking Tie fighters! And Speeder bikes that look like the Dell MP3 player!
Of course the rebels would be flying Pod Racers, and using CRT iMacs as the R2D2 units.
It's all so clear now... we have Obi Wan Schiller, Algore the Wookie, Avie "C3PO" Tevanian, the aforementioned Luke Jobswalker, and Han Solozniak. Of course, I think a perfect casting role would be Scott Blum as Greedo.
