Win a PowerMac G5 at Corbis.com |

It's a Mac addict's (not to be confused with the popular magazine) dream come true: sit on your duff and win a PowerMac G5 and a 23" display. Starting tomorrow (April 1st), Corbis is letting people register to win once a day until April 30th. All you have to do is register on the site, and login once a day. It doesn't get much easier than this, folks!
There are some catches though. To be elegible to win the dream setup, you must "be employed as professional graphic designer, art director, creative director, art buyer, copyrighter, photo editor, or a related positions in which you are authorized to purchase, evaluate, or use graphics, images, or motion footage from an outside vendor, as determined solely by Corbis". Which not only is long-winded as all get-out, but also sounds pretty restrictive. We imagine you could probably get around that by calling yourself the "Creative Director" for you own .Mac homepage or something like that though.
If you can meet (or bluff) that job description, you also have to live in the "United States (except Florida), United Kingdom, France, Germany, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong" and be 18 or older. (Geez, it's getting pretty specific here. And what do they have against Florida?)
Anyhow, in case you were wondering, Corbis is a company that sells stock photography, and hence is really Mac-friendly. This is because, as even the most die-hard anti-Mac vehement Windows sufferer and defender will tell you, "Macs are good for graphics". What that Windows sufferer doesn't do is follow that line of thought to it's logical conclusion. That thought process goes something like this: Graphics on a computer are the end-result of many things, including computational power and raw hardware performance, therefore if a computer is really good with graphics it stands to reason that it's also really good with everything else that computers do.
So there ya go, Macs are better at graphics and just about everything else ... so bookmark Corbis.com and get ready to win one all through April!

Well, once again unemployed teaspoon polishers from Canowindra, New South Wales, are being discriminated against. And what do they have against sewer cleaners from Wagga Wagga? Or page-turners with the Lake Cargelligo Symphony Orchestra (which comprises Bob Turner on alto recorder and his wife Margot on the bass ukelele)?
It's just not fair. The UN Human Rights persons are going to hear about this!

Many people think that history is a dull subject. Dull? Is it "dull" that Jesse James once got bitten on the forehead by an ant, and at first it didn't seem like anything, but then the bite got worse and worse, so he went to a doctor in town, and the secretary told him to wait, so he sat down and waited, and waited, and waited, and waited, and then finally he got to see the doctor, and the doctor put some salve on it? You call that dull?
