Have You Driven With an Apple Display Lately? |
|
A couple weeks ago I took a trip to Detroit, Michigan for Ford's Centennial Celebration, and at the show they had a lot of concept cars. The one in particular that this article is about is called the Ford MA.
The Ford MA is "Tailored to meet drivers' emotional and rational needs". It was named for the Asian philosophy of "the space between", the concept of two ideas working together as a team. Targeted at younger customers looking for new vehicle variations, the MA's low-slung aerodynamic wedge shape and mid-engine balance conjures up images of a two-seat, neighborhood sports car." It is made from aluminum, carbon fiber, and bamboo, contains no hydraulic fluids of industrial adhesives, and is more than 96% recyclable. Also it has an electric engine, and is ready assembled through a 500-piece kit instead of being produced in a plant.

But I am not writing this article to try to talk about the MA itself, rather something I found inside of the car. You see, while looking at the car, I noticed something familiar behind the drivers seat. It was an Apple Display Connector (ADC) plugged in to a DVItoADC converter. Somewhere in this car is an Apple display!
So I started looking around and under the steering wheel, and I found it. It was under the steering wheel and out of view, but it appeared that when the car was on the display came up for a better view. I am not exactly sure what the display shows, but because the display needed the converter, it more than likely wasn't a Mac in that car. However, at least Ford has good enough taste to include a kick-ass display!

It was a Ford _concept_ car, so the Apple display you saw wasn't real, but was _conceptual_. Get it? uh..hu..huh.huh....uh... ;)

It's just a figment of your imagination ;)
But why in the heck would they build in a fancy Apple display but not use an Apple computer to run it? Weird....

Bery Bery strange. A random moniter under the steering wheel of a car that looks (from what I can tell) like a musical instrument used in africa.

yeah, the car was weird... but I do think it would be kind of cool to get the kit, and put it together yourself...

Instead of mousetraps, what about baby traps? Not to harm the babies, but just to hold them down until they can be removed.
