Yet Another New MP3 player and Download Service... |
|
A San Francisco startup company today announced several upcoming products that will jettison the (until now) fairly unknown company into the realm of such heavy hitters as Apple, HP and Dell. The company, known as Justlike Everybodyelse, Inc. is debuting a new digital music player, an 'a la carte' music download service, as well as software that ties the two together.
The player, dubbed "Portable Digital Music Player Capable of Playing MP3's WMA's and Whatever Else You Got" will retail for more than Apple's iPod mini, but will have less capacity. The unit will look exactly like an Apple iPod, with the added bonus of having been beaten with an ugly stick for several weeks. The interface is just different enough from Apple's to help them avoid a nasty lawsuit; the only major difference being that it's much trickier to navigate. Browsing to your favorite song requires a 3-finger sequence with your middle fingers followed by a swift flick of the thumb and then a deft button press with your pinky.
In an effort to distance themselves from the pack, Justlike Everybodyelse's music download service will make it easy for the consumer by offering individual songs for exactly $1.00. In every other regard, the service is just like the hundreds of other music download services. When asked to comment, JustLike's CEO stated, "Instead of 99¢, it's a whole dollar. It's much easier to figure out when doing accounting, taxes, etc. Plus you won't run the risk of accidently losing that penny somewhere! You know how that goes, always losing them between the couch cushions, or under your car seat. Think of all the cleanup time you're saving!"
The software that helps your computer interface with the music player is very simple. In fact, it's not so much a separate application as it is just a driver that lets you access an external hard drive. It's up to the user to manage the music on the device, by manually dragging over songs. The software is Windows-only at this point, due to the inordinate ineptitude of Justlike Everybodyelse's engineers (frankly, it's a wonder the thing is even recognized by Windows).
Amazingly, as bad as the combined software, music store, and player are, they're still head and shoulders above almost everyone else in the digital music market. |

Yes. A free email address to anyone who uses our service and/or purchases a music player. We'll also send you and your family a fruitcake every year for the holidays. How's that sound?
Oh, and thanks to 2 Guys for the review and exposure ! Great site!

I bet for an Indian, shooting an old fat pioneer woman in the back with an arrow, and she fires her shotgun into the ground as she falls over, is like the top thing you can do.
