Safari - With No Known Side Effects?
Well it is time for the Mac community to return to a legal and non-pirated way of browsing. Apple released Safari Public Beta 1.0 version 2 this morning. So once again we can all browse with the latest version of Safari with out the worry and guilt some of you may have had for finding and downloading an advanced copy. (I know, most people did not feel guilty at all.)

Here is what Software Update has to say about Safari Beta 1.0 version 2:

Safari Beta 2 introduces tabbed browsing to conveniently see and switch between multiple Web pages in a single window, and AutoFill to instantly fill out Web forms and password fields. This update also features increased standards compatibility and improved application stability.

While this software release is not known to have the side effects that were rumored to go along with OS X 10.2.5, we do feel that this release will give millions of users pleasure while surfing through porn. Er..... Ummmmm........ Damn........ I mean surfing your favorite educational sites. So I guess the only known side effect would be prolonged Web browsing. (How could I possibly spend more time surfing, did someone add more hours to the day?) So fire up your Software Update and cruise around in the most stable Safari version yet.

Its smooth, fast, a beautiful browser. Check out macosxhints.com for tips on incorporating the Finders folders into the bookmarks bar...thats the coolest tip I've seen thus far.

"Save as" saves a web page as a single item, not multiple files as before and as with all the other browswers except IE. Now if they would fix the bookmarks!

Have tried everything - deleting all Safari related files, re-install - re-boot
Just doesn't Work.

If only we could save Web Archive File format like IE does... I'd be in heaven!

Jonahan 4/14/03, 6:16 PM EDT
True, it doesn't save the images, does it?

Eric, I guess that's why it's still a beta :( Did you try deleting it, restarting, then redownload/reinstalling? If so, I think I still have the v.60 version somehwere if you want me to send it...

Tabbed browsing is the shiznit!

Jonahan 4/15/03, 5:32 PM EDT
Or is it the shiznipple? I could never tell the difference.

Here's a good trick: Get a job as a judge at the Olympics. Then, if some guy sets a world record, pretend that you didn't see it and go, "Okay, is everybody ready to start now?"
