iPod users have a common bond |
|
On the way over to NYC, I made a promise to myself over the roar of the engine: that I was going to get in shape while I was in the greatest city in the world. The only city in the world where at any time during the day, from anywhere in the city, you risk getting mowed down by an Indian taxi driver. And I'm talking from anywhere. You think you're safe in an apartment? Think again.
So anyway, I decided to go running through cental park. And what better a place to use my iPod. So there I was, jogging along. Thinking how nice it would be to just stop and lay in the road and rest. When suddenly a scary, scary man stopped me. I was just about to surrender all my worldy goods (including my left testicle) to him, when he asked: "Is that a 5, 10, or 20 GB iPod?"
Then I noticed that he had Apple's earbuds on. And then he pulled out HIS iPod (which was a 5 GB.) Then we had a VERY long chat about all the new crap the came from WWDC, iPods and music, and about Apple in general.
Now let me explain something. This was no regular-sized guy. He looked like he could have gone one on one with the Amazing Hulk (now playing in a theater near you!) But he was very nice and polite for an Amazing Hulk.
After a while we went our separate ways. It left me with a good feeling inside. A feeling of joy, wonder, and thankfulness. Of joy, because I had found someone in a huge city who could understand the ways of the Mac. Wonder, because I wondered if there were other iPod users out there. And thankfulness, because I was not used as a basketball for a guy as strong as a gorilla.
And it turns out there are many iPod and Mac users out here in NYC. I have seen at least ten different iPods taking their owners for walks. And I see numerous Macs in aparments and small bussinesses.
So Apple has done good out in the Empire State! Now if you'll excuse me, I must jump out of the way of a enraged Mexican taxi driver who is about to come through my living room window. |

You may want to refer to them as Mexican-Americans or some such, but then again they may not have green cards.... *shrug* ;)
Good story!

Haha!
I bet that 'mexican taxi driver' was just trying to fiddle with his iTrip on top of his iPod because the station was going in and out and filling with static so he took his eyes off the road then noticed a hot latino chick walking down the street and then said "Oh Sh-!" before he swerved and almost hit you.
Or something.
