 iTunes Music Store Glitch
Apple seems to be experiencing problems with the iTunes Music Store. At time of writing (9:56 AM EST), clicking on every song tested brings the user to No Doubt's "It's My Life" single. Also, clicking in the top navigation to go to all the albums by No Doubt brings you instead to a listing of New Order's albums. Which in turn all link to the No Doubt single.

Is this a simple error with the iTMS database? Or perhaps No Doubt and New Order paid Apple off to sell more songs? Or maybe Steve Jobs just really, really likes the It's My Life single and wants us to have the opportunity to enjoy it as much as he does?

Whatever the case may be, we can be sure that all the iTMS knockoff stores will soon be linking only to one song in a vain attempt to duplicate Apple. The only difference is that they'll probably link to Sussudio by Phil Collins.

Hopefully it's a sign that iTunes is driving that much business that bandwidth becomes an issue ... kinda the problems that a company wants to have you can always buy more bandwidth and have it ready in less than 24 hours.

True that! Hopefully that was the case. Anyhooski, shortly after I posted, the problem was fixed.

Sounds like it also might've been a cache issue?

Bill Palmer 11/26/03, 6:08 AM EDT
Or maybe it was a cash issue?

Jonahan 11/26/03, 10:47 AM EDT
Could be either of those ;)

I still think Apple was paid off!

Love the last paragraph. It's only too true.

Hmm don't think it's a bandwidth problem as they use akami .. should be plenty-o-bandwidth

 Deep Thoughts
People laugh when I say that I think a jellyfish is one of the most beautiful things in the world. What they don't understand is, I mean a jellyfish with long, blond hair.
