New PowerMacs!

Apple has (finally?) released new PowerMacs, proving that some of the pictures circulating the web were legitimate.

This is not surprising news, as Apple has been bleeding the sales channels dry of G4 PowerMacs for some time now. But the intelligent reader may ask why we report on this when anyone with half a brain can find this news on one of the other gazillion Mac news sites out there? Well, gentle reader, we do it because it's our duty. That, and it was either writing about this or writing about Elvis making $38 Million this year...25 years after he died! Sheesh...I'd like to make one tenth of that 25 years after I'm gone. That's a lot of Macs! Nevermind the fact that I couldn't really USE them at that point. I would just want to be buried with them like some Egyptian Pharoh.

But back to the topic at hand - new PowerMacs. They're faster and they um.... look different. And they smell like pistachios.

Oh, and Apple added a new eMac model with a SuperDrive and dropped the price of the low-end and mid-range iMac models by a hundred bucks (making them $1299 and $1499 respectively).
