Everything must go! |

I know that the theme of the site right now is "tongue in cheek" coverage of Dell, and more importantly windows, but I have some news about iTunes so good, I can't help but pass it on. After all, iTunes is also made for windows, right? So there... Still within the boundaries of our little "theme".
It seems that the iTMS is having a sale on audio books. Up to 90% in some cases. It seems that audio books are not selling as well as Steve had hoped. (might have something to do with the fact that the audio version costs almost just as much as the actual book.) But there are some really good deals here, some audio books as cheap as 95 cents.
If you are interested in this deal, click on This Link for the HTML version of the e-mail I received promoting this sale. |

I'd love to buy an audio book. But Apple Australia just won't come to the party with iTMS ...
*Sigh!*

Apple Australia NEVER comes to any party I've thrown. I've offered free beer, horse d'oevers, chicken McNuggets, everything. I think it doesn't like me.

maybe they're not selling audio books because when i accessed the store through iTunes, the "author" is listed rather than the title (which i can't seem to make show up). plus, the author listed is frequently the performer's (reader's) name, that tells me NOTHING.
Since I would by books by TITLE, maybe Steve would seel a few more if it were easier to find them...

Well is it any wonder we Aussies don't go to any parties. We sent a few of the boys from the Army along to that big party in Baghdad, and next thing there's people getting killed! I don't know what George W. uses to spike the punch, but he really should lay off of that sh*t!

A ausio book is like a song its not a stock item so there is no need to have a sale to get rid of youre inventory. This must be more like a promotion that I only wish I could take part of

I think Steve is trying to prove that you have to lower prices on audiobooks to make them sell. The people that convert books to audio charge MORE than a book because they've put the work in to convert it from a book to audio. But most consumers think having the audio version is actually LESS than having the hard copy, therefore won't pay as much for it (plus, usually the audio version is an abridged version).
I think Apple will sell LOTS of these sale item audiobooks, and maybe that'll get Audible.com to lower the prices of their entire inventory.
If not, at least I got an Al Franken book for $4!

There should be a detective show called "Johnny Monkey," because every week you could have a guy say "I ain't gonna get caught by no MONKEY," but then he would, and I don't think I'd ever get tired of that.
