Frequent Switchin' |
|
I am a switcher, I switch about fifty times a day.
What?
No, really, I do. I am using a G4 Tower, and right next to my monitor is my KVM Switch. I frequently switch between my Mac and my PC. The PC is dual boot-able with Linux Red Hat 8.0 and Windows XP (XP is for testing only). So I spend most of the day switching between Linux and OS X.
Why?
Well, it started out as a testing thing... and grew. I use Linux frequently for coding (Web Development) and networking stuff. The Mac is mostly used for creating and modifying graphics (And writing articles for 2 Guys - it just feels right).
How?
A switch box, (but you already knew that) along with an Apple Pro Keyboard, a Logitech Mouse, and a 17" PC monitor. (My boss tells me a 20" is on the way!)
Where?
When I'm at work of course! I am a poor web developer and I cannot afford one at home. Although I am going to check into this cool project that Jonahan told me about: iBox. I hope I can get one before Apple shuts him down! Or, if you'd like to donate a Mac or cash for me to purchase one, !
When?
Are you serious, I just told you when... DUH!
But, if you have any questions, ! |

There is no need to switch the monitor to use the Linux box; install X11 and remote display to OSX. Then all you would need the PC for is XP. You could install XP on VPC and then you would never have to "switch" and could use your mac for everything. Heck, you could even just use konquror or mozilla compiled on OSX natively.
