 Win More Songs For Less!
Well, the "tilt method" that was mentioned by 2GAMAAW's very own rlhamon is now about as prevalent as a Microsoft virus. Yesireeebob, the cat is out of the bag. See, the guys over at MacMerc posted a "tutorial" on the tilt method. (A diagram is included, possibly for those Windows users who use the iTunes Music Store)

If you haven't heard by now, the tilt method is a means by which you can vitually assure yourself of a free song every time you purchase a Pepsi with the new caps on them. Basically you tilt the Pepsi at about a 25 degree angle, you look for the words "Please try again" or a bunch of random letters. If you see the random letters, you've got yerself a winner! Ignore the staring from other people in the store. Don't let them know what you're doing, otherwise they'll take all the winning bottles. Maybe throw them off track by mumbling about a government conspiracy and mind-controlling agents in the Pepsi.

On second thought, the people staring probably DO know about the tilt method. Everone and his uncle seems to know now, as MacMerc has been linked to from about everywhere. Their server has been reduced to one static page of the tutorial. Tons of Mac sites have been linking to it, and now even CNN is running the story.

Nevermind the fact that rlhamon had the info about it, as did iPodGarage. But that's ok, we'll continue to be the underdogs in our neverending quest to enlighten more people about the Way of Macintosh. Just a few links to us now an again would be nice. Throw us a frickin bone here people!

Ok, sour grapes aside (and they're not really that sour anyway, but you've just got to bitch once in a while ya know!?), if there are still winning Pepsi bottles out there, you can get more winning bottles for less.

That's right, as "Sure winner" notes in the comments on this 2GAMAAW article, you can waltz (or tango if you prefer) into a BJ's Warehouse or Sam's Club where they have a 24-pack crate of Pepsi bottles. As Sure winner states:
"The first of every 3 bottles (in a line, long ways) in the crate are winners, switch them around and there ya go, 24 winning bottles. I'm still working on my crate, but so far so good."
Now if someone has been there before you, you're SOL. But good luck!

Also, seeing as we thought the tilt method was fairly common knowledge before it blew up and got as well known as Trogdor, we'll dispense another piece of iTMS/Pepsi cap knowledge.

The Pepsi bottles with the yellow iTMS caps are usually located in the fronts of grocery stores and supermarkets, in smallish coolers - usually by the checkouts. If you look down the actual pop aisle, you probably won't see them. The reason for this is probably because if you're going down the pop aisle anyway, you meant to buy pop. If it's in the small cooler by the checkout, the cap is there to "sell you" on picking up a couple sodas while you're shopping.

Last but not least, does it seem odd to anyone else that it took Mac users to "figure out" Pepsi's ingenious contest method? They've been doing this sort of thing for years, giving away hats and shirts, etc., and it's never been as big a deal as this. Or is it something that's been known, but hasn't been given much attention because the prizes weren't nearly as cool, impulsive, and addictive as the iTunes Music Store giveaway?
