It's 50 GB ipods.

David Duncan 7/1/04, 12:35 PM EDT
Opps. I read that wrong. They are giving away 50 iPods. Do they even HAVE 50GBs?

iKen 7/1/04, 2:37 PM EDT
No

John Mairs 7/1/04, 3:18 PM EDT
I want a...hold on a sec need a computer storage units chart (since when can a glass tube be your harddisk ?? Stupid Google)...ok, ok I want a 300 exabyte iPod (1024 GB = 1 terabyte - 1024 terabytes = 1 petabyte - 1024 petabytes = 1 exabyte - and so i can go on... - 1024 exabytes = 1 zebibyte - 1024 zebibytes = 1 yottabyte and if you want more, I got it all at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gigabyte and if you look it'll say "-next unit- is 1024 times -the unit you are looking at-)

Wait a month or two 60 GB models are on the horizon. The next PowerBook revision is going to have 100 GB drives. Put that one in your corn flakes.

I bet the 20 GB models are special for one of two reasons:

1. They are colored. They might be special colors.

2. They are delivered full of music. 5000 songs (20 gigs) x $.99 = $4950 bucks worth of music.

Maybe both.

I heard that the special iPods are actually bars of chocolate shaped like an iPod.

whatsinaname9000 7/7/04, 2:16 PM EDT
hahahahaha!!!!

you guys are downloading it??

dude, here's a tip:

it says NO PURCHASE NECCESARY!!!!

really! just go to tell a friend under itunes, send an email through it to [email protected], and you get entered!! ive done it like a thousand times.

you cant write an applescript or anything automatic tho, they'll disqualify you.

don't believe me? go to http://www.apple.com/itunes/100million, scroll down to the bottom where the rules are, and read the fine print.

why pay?

ZackMac 7/8/04, 1:58 AM EDT
>why pay?

To support Apple, the Music Labels and then the artist. DUH!

Da John-like Creature 7/10/04, 1:09 PM EDT
he's right....it says no purchase necessary...

iKen 7/13/04, 8:52 AM EDT
I wonder if the 100 Millionth guy bought the song or not?

I read that Steve Jobs called him personally. How cool is that?

nhmacusr 7/13/04, 11:41 AM EDT
I think he did. I read an article where they interviewed him. He said he downloaded a few around 12:15 am. I was actually kind of peeved. I was hoping it was going to last until I got up so I could have a shot ( that is like 2:00 AM for me).

With 80% of the shoes sold in America being tennis shoes, you'd think we'd have a lot more tennis courts than we do.
